Flooding in Central Texas - How Can We Help?

May 8, 2024

On May 5, Baylor University's neighbors throughout central Texas were affected by flooding due to rain and storms. Among those impacted were communities in the cities of Gatesville and Clifton. Baylor Missions, Service & Public Life's BearAid team is working to provide relief through collecting funds for supplies and organizing a furniture donation drive. Keep reading to see how you can help.

Funds for Flood Relief Supplies - Click Here to Donate

Flood cleanup and rebuilding take lots of time, effort, and supplies. Join us as we help our neighbors begin this journey by donating to Baylor BearAid as we purchase and donate needed supplies to our neighbors and local churches. With the donations, BearAid will be able to purchase needed supplies and deliver them to the affected cities of Gatesville and Clifton. BearAid is part of the Department of Missions, Service & Public Life that provides immediate relief when disaster strikes in tangible ways, such as supply donation, debris cleanup, and providing and cooking food. Every gift makes a difference no matter the size!

Furniture Donation Drive - Click Here to Request Furniture Pick Up

Damage from the flooding has left many members of the Gatesville and Clifton communities without any usable furniture. With the semester coming to an end, if you are moving out and/or getting rid of furniture, please consider donating it. Donated furniture will be given to local churches for them to distribute to their communities.

Furniture can be brought directly to the Bobo Spiritual Life Center for donation from 9 AM - 5 PM Thursday 5/9 - Friday 5/10 or  Monday 5/13 - Friday 5/13. Additionally, our BearAid team can pick up your furniture from your residence. In order for our team to pick up your furniture, you must live either on or near campus, and the furniture must be placed on the ground outside of your residence. Keep in mind that your furniture must be clean and in usable condition. Click here to request furniture pick up.

Thank you for your willingness to help our neighbors!
