Trips with Baylor Missions combine faithful worldwide service with discipline-specific education. Over Spring Break, students were deeply impacted by sharing the love of Christ with the world, experiencing different cultures, growing in their faith, and using their vocations to impact communities near and far.

145 Baylor students, faculty, and staff are serving around the globe this spring break! Eight teams are serving across six countries, combining their education and vocation with faithful worldwide service empowered by the gospel. Keep reading to see where we're serving!

October is designated as Christian Higher Education Month. For more than 180 years, Baylor has been pursuing excellence in academics and fostering a vibrant campus community grounded in Christian faith.

The Baylor community, including incoming freshmen at Line Camp, joined Baylor Missions and BearAid to pack flood relief buckets for families in Kerr County, Texas.

Meeting human needs and showing Christ's love: the heart of Baylor Missions trips blends service and love across a variety of discipline-specific trips around the world.

Every summer, Baylor students head out on mission trips around the world, putting what they’ve learned in the classroom to use serving others. But the experience isn’t a one-way gift; these students also come back having learned about other people, places and cultures, and ways they can use their skills to help others in the future.

In late April, Baylor sent these Bears off with a special Student Mission Trip Commissioning Ceremony. Following the disciples’ example, Baylor representatives gathered to send these short-term missionaries off with prayer and encouragement (plus some treats to sweeten the celebration).

Ash Wednesday: The first day of Lent – which begins a season of repentance, fasting and awaiting Christ’s resurrection.

More than 100 Baylor students and faculty and staff leaders will serve with Baylor Missions over spring break March 9-16, combining faith, service and learning in Texas and in four international locations with the University’s global partners.

On January 7, 2025, multiple wildfires began sweeping across Southern California. The wildfires continue to cause destruction, injury, death, and displacement across the region. Our neighbors in the impacted areas are in need of support. Baylor Missions, Service & Public Life is ready to respond with BearAid's approach to disaster relief. With six southeastern states still reeling from successive hurricanes Helene and Milton, Baylor University students joined together with the BearAid Disaster Relief Team to pack 100 “flood buckets” for communities impacted by widespread destruction.

With the east coast still reeling from Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida on October 9, 2024. Hurricane Milton is set to cause widespread destruction in communities across the coast. Our neighbors in Florida and the east coast are in need of support. On September 26, 2024, Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida, causing widespread damage, injury, and death. As Helene weakened to a tropical depression, it continued to impact Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Helene continues to leave a path of destruction, and efforts to rebuild and provide relief will be extensive. Nonprofit organizations have begun disaster relief to help with food, water, shelter, healthcare, and essential supplies. In times like these, you may be wondering how you can help. Keep reading to see where you can donate, how you can learn more, and other ways to provide aid.

Baylor University has received a $30,000 grant from The Allstate Foundation in collaboration with the Center for Expanding Leadership & Opportunity (CELO) to support youth-led, youth-driven community service among students.

Once again this summer, Baylor students can be found around the globe, ministering and serving in 10 countries across four continents on Baylor Missions trips.

What makes Baylor’s mission trips distinct is the blending of service and calling. These trips are discipline-specific: students with similar career goals or interests come together for trips that allow them to further develop in areas like healthcare, business or music as they meet significant needs wherever they travel.

More than 1,450 students will volunteer at over 50 sites around Waco during Baylor University’s biannual Steppin’ Out community service event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6. A beloved Baylor tradition, Steppin’ Out is a student-led day of community service specifically dedicated to helping Waco residents. 

Nearly 75 students and faculty and staff leaders will serve with Baylor Missions over spring break March 2-10, combining faith, service and learning in five international locations while supporting the ongoing efforts of the University’s global partners.
